After persistent sputtering over these last several months, my laptop finally fizzled and crawled to it’s last pathetic breath. My first one lasted me 5 years, this one (originally belonging to Melissa, lasted 6).
Anyway, I’m looking for odd jobs and short-term work opportunities to put $ toward a replacement laptop.
Trying to maneuver through this last week without a computer at my disposal didn’t work so well, especially since our desktop is so often occupied by Melissa and her free-lance design projects. If you know of any little jobs would you send me a message? I would much appreciate it!
I can’t sleep again. Tonight I find myself counting the cost anew.
[26] “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. [27] Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.[28] For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? [29] Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, [30] saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’[33] So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.(Luke 14:26-30,33 ESV)
[7] Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. [8] For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.(Galatians 6:7-8 ESV)
[12] Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw— [13] each one’s work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done.(1 Corinthians 3:12-13 ESV)
Pastor this morning: a lukewarm Christian is never happy. They have too much of Christ to be happy in the world, and too much of the world to be happy in Christ.
[15] “‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! [16] So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.(Revelation 3:15-16 ESV)
[62] Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”(Luke 9:62 ESV)
[35] For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it. [36] For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? [37] For what can a man give in return for his soul?(Mark 8:35-37 ESV)
[46] “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?(Luke 6:46 ESV)
[44] “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.[45] “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, [46] who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it.(Matthew 13:44; Matthew 13:45-46 ESV)
